The team here at Zapya is pleased to announce the start of your brand new initiative to reach our Muslim friends all over the world. In anticipation of the Ramadan, we decided to design an audio playback feature that allows users to access a copy of the Holy Quran and listen to the verses, all for free.

The concept is to make the Quran available for users to download and read at their pleasure, as well as having a feature wherein users can access to multiple readers, who will recite the Quran from start to finish – an exciting new feature!

To access this great feature and get access to the Quran, please do the following:

  1. Download Zapya by clicking here.
  2. Once you have downloaded Zapya, you will be able to access the feature from banner or the Zapya home screen.
  3. Lastly, we wish that our users near and afar accept our hard work. Don’t forget to share with your beloved and remember the Prophet Muhammad.

Zapya: Striving to make sharing easier!

In keeping with our mission to make file sharing faster, easier, and more accessible, the team here at Zapya is pleased to announce the release of version 4.7, an upgrade that provides a few new features. So what are these new features?

First of all, the team incorporated new animations to the user interface to help first-time users understand Zapya’s core functions, such as file sharing. If users ever need to consult these animated instructions again, they can refer to them in the User Guide.

Secondly, Zapya wants to make sure that users from across the smartphone spectrum have easier access to the best speeds. To that end, Zapya has the option that enables users whose phones have the requisite capability to access speeds of 5GHz. Generally, the default speed is set at 2.4GHz; however, if your mobile supports 5GHz, simply go to the settings to enable the feature – simple as that!

It is important to point out only devices that support high speed mode can connect and share files at a higher rate. To make things simpler, Zapya has incorporated a new icon and notification that informs users whether the device can support high speed mode or share at a higher rate.

These are all new ways that we try to make Zapya an easy to use app that helps users share everything from files to fun, whether you are near or afar! We will keep working towards new ways to make file sharing fun and easy for our users.

Love is in the Air

Love is in the air this week as the world comes together to celebrate Valentine’s Day, also known as Saint Valentine’s Day. Whether it is exchanging gifts and roses or hugs and kisses, Valentine’s Day is a special occasion where young and old can come together and share joy. This week, we thought it would be nice to see how Valentine’s Day is celebrated in different parts of the world.

The accepted norm in some parts of the world is that an exchange of gifts or cards occurs between partners. However, in Japan, a different tradition seems to have emerged. Unlike western countries, gifts such as greeting cards, candies, flowers, or dinner dates  are uncommon. Instead, females usually gift chocolates to those they hold dear. During Valentines season, it is reported that Japanese chocolate companies make half their annual sales during this time of the year – that’s a lot of Chocolate!

In Chinese, Valentine’s Day is called lovers’ festival (simplified Chinese: 情人节; Mandarin: Qīng Rén Jié). The “Chinese Valentine’s Day” is the Qixi Festival, celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar. It commemorates a day on which a legendary cow herder and weaving maid are allowed to be together.

Denmark and Norway:

In Denmark and Norway, Valentine’s Day (or Valentinsdag) has its own unique twist. Men usually send funny little poems or rhyming love notes to women anonymously on Valentine’s Day, giving them only a clue as to the number of letters in the senders name, represented by a dot for each letter. The recipient must then guess who sent her the card. If she guesses correctly she wins an Easter Egg on Easter later that year and if she’s stumped as to who her secret admirer was, she owes him an egg instead which is collected on Easter.

The team here at Zapya hopes that everyone had an enjoyable Valentine’s Day with friends and loved ones.

Pass the love forward with Zapya

Being a Chinese mobile developer company does not stop Zapya from sharing joy beyond the virtual domain to the physical world around us. In the spirit of giving during the Spring Festival, Zapya provided donations to orphans at the Edhi Center in Lahore, Pakistan.

The Edhi Foundation is a non-profit social welfare program in Pakistan, founded by Abdul Sattar Edhi in 1951, provides 24-hour emergency assistance across the nation of Pakistan and abroad. The Foundation provides many other services, one which is to address the concerns of orphans in the country.

Zapya strongly believes that everyone was born with the ability to change someone’s life, so don’t waste it. This philosophy has enabled us to start small but ensure that we are slowly, but surely, giving back to those around us. We would also like to acknowledge that this initiative would not have been possible without the steadfast support of our local partner, Tickling Vines.

Donations are one of many ways to give back to those who are less fortunate. It can be seen as the duty of those who are privileged to help reach out and give back to those who do not share the same privilege. Zapya is honored and proud to be able to do its part and bring smiles on the faces of those children; their smiles not only motivate us back home but also renew our drive to keep spreading joy around the world.

Lastly, Zapya would like to sincerely thank Newsweek in Pakistan for including news of our donation into one of your columns. With your help, we’re now successfully illustrate the meaning of “giving and sharing” to the people out there. We hope that our small action can inspire people to start doing something great and meaningful to the society.
